For one evening, the Black Cultural Zone campus becomes a sovereign court. Seven Houses. One crown. A red carpet arrival gives way to a coronation: cocktails and a culinary journey.
At its center is the Inaugural Legacy Roast, a warm and witty tribute to our Founding CEO and fellow Oakland leaders.
Every ticket funds the next chapter of the Zone: the campus, the collaborative, and the community it was built to serve.

Beyond the Headlines is staged as a fusion of American and African cuisine across interactive houses of food rather than a buffet line. Chef Bakari has cooked for Angela Bassett, Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, and Don Cheadle, and served as the on call chef for the Barbie film. He brings that same precision, artistry, and sense of occasion to every station on the floor.
